Autumn Art Sale in Kleinburg

Ron Peter, husband of our wonderful ICCT club treasurer, Lynne Thorkelsson, is presenting his art this fall at the McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg. Ron was selected from over 200 artists across Canada to be a part of the McMichael Gallery’s Autumn Art Sale.

Vikingur Olafsson Concert

Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson will be performing two Toronto solo recitals as part of his 2014 Canadian Concet Series. The Icelandic Canadian Club of Toronto and the Consulate of Iceland in Toronto are proud to present these events, as Ólafsson is an accomplished performer.

At just 30 years old, he has been described by The New York Sun as “born to play the piano”, and as a “rising star of a pianist” by the Sunday Times.

The first Toronto concert will be on October 27th at the Remenyi House of Music at 210 Bloor Street West. Doors will be at 7:00 pm and the show will start at 7:30pm. Ólafsson will be performing Bach’s Goldberg Variations, followed by a Nordic Program including Icelandic folk and art songs.

October 28, Doors open 11:30am, Concert at 12 noon

Ólafsson will again perform a solo recital of this program as part of the Canadian Opera Company’s lunchtime concert series on October 28th. This free event will take place at the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts at 12pm. Doors will be at 11:30am. There is limited seating, and no reserve tickets, so come early!
