Nordic Nights: AALTO (2020) by Virpi Suutari. A world-class documentary on Alvar Aalto

Nordic Nights’ next screening of the 2021-22 session will be on October 26th, 2021 and will once again be screened on-line through Zoom.
Nordic Nights is the popular movie screening program run jointly by the ICCT, the Consulate of Finland and the School of Image Arts at Ryerson University. Typically there are six screenings held at Ryerson on the last Tuesday of September, October, November, January, February and March. All screenings are currently held on-line due to continued pandemic restrictions at Ryerson.
Nordic Nights series is pleased to present AALTO (2020) a Finnish film by Virpi Suutari.
The film will be streamed at an on-line event starting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 26th.
Programming for the night will include:
- — Welcome from our Nordic Nights Hosts Gail Einarson-McCleery and Laura McSwiggan
- — A showing of the short film Rooted by a Emma Buchanan from the 2019 Iceland Workshop at Ryerson
- — Introduction to the film by Professor Anu Muhonen, of the Finnish Studies department at the University of Toronto
- — The feature presentation AALTO
- — A moderated discussion period with Professor Anu Muhonen and other special guests about the film — your chance to join the conversation!
