Nordic Nights “And Breathe Normally” (Andið eðlilega)

Nordic Nights’ fifth screening this session will be on February 23rd, 2021 and will be screened on-line through Zoom.  

Nordic Nights is the popular movie screening program run jointly by the ICCT, the Consulate of Finland and the School of Image Arts at Ryerson University. Typically there are six screenings held at Ryerson on the last Tuesday of September, October, November, January, February and March.

This year’s Nordic Nights series continues with the Icelandic film  “And Breathe Normally, the 2018 film by director Ísold Uggadóttir. 

The film will be streamed at an on-line event starting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday February 23rd.

The evening will include a Ryerson student Icelandic workshop short film (from the archive), the movie screening, a live discussion following the movie with a Q&A with the director, Ísold Uggadóttir .

Synopsys: 

At the edge of Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula, two women’s lives will intersect – for a brief moment – while being trapped by unforeseen circumstances. Between a struggling single mother from Iceland and an asylum seeker from Africa, an intimate bond will form as both fight to get their lives back on track.
